Reflection of History Wins the Lighting Design Competition for Raseborg Castle!
The winner is the light installation Reflection of History by Jenni Pystynen, Lighting Designer, and Paula Lehtonen, Media Artist. The theme of the winning installation is to transform, with the help of video projectors, the western facade of the ruins into a mirror onto which castle events spanning from the 14th century to the present day are reflected.
The jury of the competition was impressed by the excellent video projection, as well as the high technical and artistic quality of the winning proposal.
In addition, the public voted for its own favourite from amongst the top five proposals.The public’s favourite was LiveFire.

Lights On Raasepori! is a public lighting design competition aimed at finding ideas for an insightful and innovative TEMPORARY light installation for the façade of the ruins of Raasepori Castle. The winning proposal will be the highlight of Raasepori’s light-themed event in August 2017. The event is part of the Finland 100 Years programme, and it will take place on the Night of Ancient Bonfires in connection with Finnish Nature Day on 26 August 2017 as part of Luonnon Päivät events.
